The movement of the liquid through the control device and fluid pockets changes in a similar manner due to the variation in liquid consistency, which keeps stiffnesses and load capacities constant. In addition, the gap sizes and pressures of the hydrostatic bags remain unchanged, regardless of the density of the fluid.
Due to the small mass of the spring steel disc and the high actuation forces, the PM regulator is characterized by its speed and significantly higher eigenfrequencies than the frequencies relevant in mechanical engineering. This regulator exhibits an unusual property by increasing fluid flow as differential pressure decreases.
Advantages in all applications for the guides include wear resistance even under maximum load conditions, ensuring precision without p loss throughout the service life. The improved damping, by orders of magnitude, contributes to a significantly longer work surface and tool life, without vibration or friction fluctuations thanks to the recirculating balls. In addition, it avoids the reversal jump of the forward force when changing the direction of movement, and shows virtually zero friction at low speeds without the stick-slip effect. It offers the possibility to travel at less than 0.1 µm.
The connection between the ports of the PM regulator is established by means of pipes, which must be as short as possible and with an internal diameter that limits the oil velocity to a maximum of 1 m/s.
