With nominal contact current of 5A AC and 1A in DC and a nominal voltage of  600V AC  and 250V DC 

A contactor is an electrically controlled switch to turn on a circuit of electric current, similar to a relai except with higher current levels apart from some other differences.

Relais are used when it is necessary to control a circuit by a differentiated high-intensity signal, or when several circuits have to be controlled by a single signal. The type of relai capable of withstanding this high intensity to directly control an electric motor and other loads, is a contactor.
