NILOS 6207AV Series 6207 Bearing Sealing Ring

A Nilos ring that seals the outer ring of the roller bearing is described as an AV type. They are used to provide sealing for bearings that do not have shields or seals. A Nilos ring of suitable dimensions can be installed so that the open bearing area is completely enclosed by the Nilos ring. Nile rings are required in particular installations where there may be excess dirt or debris that could penetrate up to the bearing, if any additional mechanical protection is required or if condensation forms. Sealing occurs by placing the sealing edge of the Nilos ring under slight pressure on the outer ring of the bearing and so that it rubs to a greater or lesser depth on the ring of the hardened bearing. The fine labyrinth that occurs as a result prevents grease leakage and also the penetration of dirt into the bearing.
