Tec4 Core safety light curtain connected to UE48-2OS safety relay

Task

Connection of a safety light curtain from Tec4 Core to UE48-2OS.

Operating mode: with restart lock and contactor control.

Operation

When the optical path is free, the OSSD1 and OSSD2 outputs conduct voltage. If the sleep position of K1 and K2 is faultless, the system is ready to connect and waits for an input or connection signal. When pulsar and release the S1 key again, the UE48-2OS lights up. The outputs (contacts 13 - 14 and 23 - 24) connect contactors K1 and K2. When one or more light beams are interrupted, the OSSD1 and OSSD2 outputs disconnect the UE48-2OS. The contactors K1 and K2 are disconnected.

Error analysis

Short circuits and crossovers in the OSSD switched outputs are detected and cause a Lock Out state. One of the K1 or K2 contactors is detected to have failed. The disconnect feature remains enabled. Tampering (e.p g. immobilizing) of the S1 button does not enable the UE48-2OS to release the output circuits.

Remarks

1)  Output circuits: these contacts must be integrated into the control system, so that, with the output circuit open, the potentially hazardous state has disappeared. In categories 4 and 3, this integration must be carried out by two channels (x and y routes). Single-channel integration into the control (z-path) is only possible with a single-channel control system and taking into account risk analysis.
